Getting paid with Wam is fast, easy, and works whether you're face-to-face with a customer or selling online. Here’s how to accept payments in two simple ways:
Option 1: Accept Payment with a QR Code (Perfect for In-Person Sales)
If your customer is right in front of you — at your shop, a pop-up, or on delivery — you can generate a QR code for them to scan and pay.
Here's how:
Tap the ‘Sell’ button in your business wallet. If you don’t see this button, you may need to switch from your personal account to your business account.
Enter the amount and an optional description (e.g. “2 doubles”). A unique QR code is generated.
Show the QR code to your customer — they’ll scan it using their Wam app and confirm the payment.
Once the payment is complete, the customer’s device will display a green confirmation screen — and the money will instantly appear in your Wam wallet.
Tip
You can verify the authenticity of the payment by tapping (or asking the customer to tap) the green confirmation screen, which will trigger an animation.
Option 2: Accept Payment with a Payment Link (Perfect for Online Sales)
If you're selling over WhatsApp, Instagram, or email — or your customer isn’t nearby — you can generate a payment link.
Here's how:
Tap the ‘Sell’ button in your business wallet.
Enter the amount and an optional description (e.g. “Online order for 3 handmade candles”).
Tap ‘Request payment’.
Copy or share the link directly via your platform of choice — like WhatsApp, email, or Instagram.
Your customer taps the link, logs into Wam, and completes the payment in a few seconds. You will receive a notification of this payment, and it's available instantly in your Wam wallet!
Tip
Use the description field to help track orders later — it shows up in your transaction history.
